FAQ:
What’s the difference between a couples intensive and couples therapy?
A Couples Intensive is couples therapy – but with faster results! Traditional couples therapy is typically where a couples meets with a therapist once a week for a 50 minute session. The couples intensive is like taking 3 months worth of therapy and packaging it into two days. Longer sessions = quicker progress.
Is a Couples Intensive better than weekly therapy?
Both are good! We do notice that progress tends to be much quicker with our couples who engage in a couples intensive. They are able to learn a lot about their relationship in a short amount of time, and then immediately implement their plan of action for their marriage or relationship.
Can we continue with regular couples therapy after our intensive?
Absolutely! The Couples Intensive is meant to be a jump start to relationship healing. Toward the end of the intensive, Cori will help you create a post-intensive plan based on the needs of your relationship.
Can I choose which counselor I do my intensive with?
Cori White is our therapist who runs the intensives. She is an expert in couples & marriage therapy and has helped many couples over the years decrease their struggle and increase their joy & connection.
How much does an intensive cost?
The intense is a total of 10 hours of deep dive relationship therapy – including a pre-intensive session, a relationship assessment, and follow up plan so you and your partner can implement the results of the couples intensive. The total cost is $2200.
When are intensives scheduled?
Couples Intensives are scheduled based on the availability of the counselor. They are scheduled based on the counselors availablity. There is a limited availability for intensives; reach out right away if you’re interested.
What if I can’t get off work?
Many couples take vacation days or personal days to accommodate the intensive schedule.
What if I’m from out of town?
To participate in a two-day intensive, you must travel to our office in Wyomissing PA. You can be from Pennsylvania or out of state, as long as your willing to travel to Reading PA. to heal your marriage.
If you’re from far away, Berks County is a great place to spend a weekend. There are tons of great restaurants, things to do, and places to stay!
Who are intensives good for?
Intensives are great for a range of couples issues. Some include: infidelity, lack of connection, communication problems, parenting problems, general marriage problems, and couples going through grief. Generally speaking, if you and your partner are struggling to understand each other – whatever the problem – a couples intensive is good for your relationship.
Do we have to be married?
Nope! Intensives are great for married couples, engaged couples, couples who live together, couples who don’t – however you structure your relationship.
