To our clients:
As we prepare to move into our new therapy office in Wyomissing, we thought it was a good time to reflect on our journey.
Our Whole Living Counseling was born in 2018, when we (Cori & Kari) had a few hours to make a big decision about whether or not to open a counseling practice together (spoiler alert: we did).
We started in the basement of an old school building in Leesport. To be honest – the basement was creepy, but our clients came into our space anyway. They shared their stories, and they made an old dusty schoolhouse feel comfortable.
Six months in, we moved again – into another small and less-than-ideal location. Again, our clients filled the space with their stories and it felt right.
In November of 2019 we decided to take our relationship with OWL to the next level by making a big move to Sinking Spring. A real office – with a real sign, a real parking lot, and a real three-year lease.
Three months after we signed that lease, a pandemic came through and said “Oh you wanted to use this beautiful in-person counseling space? Yea, no.”
For the next two years we alternated between in-person and virtual sessions. If it wasn’t already obvious to us, it became crystal clear that it wasn’t the office space that gave OWL heart, it was you.
Sinking Spring was our home since November 2019. In that time, so many people have sat with us to work through their trauma, their marriage problems, their negative self talk, and their grief. The community has been wonderful to us, and are grateful for the many counseling experiences that have been taking place in this town.
When we moved to our Sinking Spring location it was just us – Cori & Kari. Now we have interns and contractors and we need a bigger space to hold your stories.
So we’re heading to 320 Abington Drive – just off State Hill Road in Wyomissing.
Why Abington Drive? Well…
- It’s centrally located in Berks County, which makes us closer to helping more people in our community.
- It has 6 therapy rooms, which means we can expand our services to include group therapy, wellness services, and who knows what else!
- There are TWO bathrooms in this joint. No more bathroom traffic jams in between sessions. (!!)
- It just felt right. So many of the decisions we’ve made over the years have come from listening to our intuition – the same way we encourage you to do. Our instincts told us this was the right location to continue our growth with you.
See you in Wyomissing!
With gratitude,
Cori & Kari
