From Cori & Kari to you:
In the years we’ve been counselors, something we’ve noticed about people & therapy is this: people’s need for therapy changes with the seasons. And with summer fading and fall approaching we know that people are ready to get back into counseling.
It happens, like clockwork, every September. Maybe it’s the changing of the season? Maybe it’s part of getting into a back to school routine? Maybe it’s those good summer vibes wearing off?
We’re not really sure why it happens, we just know that it does. So if you’re one of those people gearing up to prioritize your mental health this fall, let us tell you about three ways we offer counseling at Our Whole Living…
In Our Sinking Spring Office:
This is the traditional way of therapy. Therapist, client, couch. We’ve created our office to feel comfortable and calming. We have rooms for our clients to be undistracted and soothed at the same time. A place where you can escape the loudness of your space and hear yourself in the quietness of ours.
We picked Sinking Spring for the location. We’re centrally located to Shillington, Wyomissing, Wernersville, and a short drive to many other Berks County suburbs.
(In response to COVID-19: We closed the office in March due to COVID and moved everything online. We took a long time to create a game plan for reopening that prioritizes safety. Over the past month we’ve been slowly opening and implementing our plan. Contact us to learn more about our safety procedures, we’d love to tell you about what we’re doing to keep you well.)
Online:
We’ve always been ahead of the curve with online counseling, so when COVID-19 put us 100% online we were prepared.
Online counseling goes like this: You are in your space, your counselor is in their space, and you connect through a HIPPA compliant video chat. If you’ve got internet connection, you’ve got a therapy session.
And we love online counseling (or telehealth, e-therapy, whatever you call it!). Why? In short…
- Anyone in the state of Pennsylvania can get access to working with us. Live in a studio apartment in Pittsburgh? We’ve got a therapist for you. All the way up in Erie? Same thing.
- It fits into your life and schedule. Can’t get a sitter? Put the kids to bed and have your session. Don’t have a car? All you need is a phone or computer.
- Some people just prefer to be in their own home when they are working through hard emotions.
So, if you’ve come across this article in Scranton or Philadelphia, or you can’t find time to make it into the office and you want to work with one of our counselors – contact us and we’ll get you set up. (To learn more about why we love online therapy, click here to read our blog on it)
Walk & Talk Counseling
There’s something really beautiful and transformational about being outside in nature. And there’s something extra beautiful and transformation about being outside in nature during fall.
And because we find there is so much growth to access when we are outdoors, we wanted to take therapy outside. So we started doing Walk & Talk sessions.
Here’s how it works: You and your counselor meet on a trail in Berks County (your counselor will let you know which one). You walk, you talk, and you breathe in nature as you exhale what’s not serving you anymore.
And people are loving these outdoor therapy sessions. We’ve been told that it feels easier to explore emotions and uncover beliefs of self when you’re outside and moving. But don’t take our word for it, experience it for yourself.
If you have questions about any of the three ways to get therapy at Our Whole Living Counseling, click here to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation with one of our counselors! We’re looking forward to getting to know you & help you in whichever version of counseling makes the most sense for you.
